The Emissions section in a carVertical report contains a graphic that shows the amount of CO2 emissions produced by a specific car. The emissions class indicates where the vehicle stands in terms of environmental impact.
Each new vehicle is assigned a CO2 emission class, ranging from “A” (lowest emissions) to “G” (highest emissions), based on its level of emissions. This data can be embedded in the VIN, so you can retrieve it by decoding this number.
The report shows a graphic that contains the vehicle's emission class, allowing you to check where the car you’re checking stands compared to regulatory standards.
The Emissions section has a simple layout that helps instantly understand the emissions profile of the car you’re interested in.
Each emissions class is represented using a different color, indicating the range of CO2 emissions measured in grams per kilometer (g/km). Green means the lowest emissions, while red signifies the highest levels, making it easy to assess the vehicle's environmental impact at a glance.
You can use this data to:
Emissions data may not be available in the report for several reasons:
If emissions data is missing from the report, consider checking with the manufacturer or relevant regulatory bodies for more information.
As regulations regarding vehicle emissions tighten, knowing how much CO2 the car emits helps you identify eco-friendly vehicles, compare emissions across models, and make a more sustainable choice.
Note that vehicle emissions may increase as the car ages due to various factors, including wear and tear on engine components, deterioration of exhaust systems, or simply poor maintenance. Therefore, consider the car’s age and use the rest of the data in the report to better understand its condition and how it can impact CO2 output.
