Specs and equipment

What is the Specs & Equipment section in a vehicle history report?

Depending on your location, the report will display either the Specs or Specs & Equipment section. This section provides a detailed overview of the vehicle's technical characteristics and includes a list of its original features.

The Specs part can include:

  • The vehicle’s make
  • Model
  • Year of manufacture
  • Fuel type
  • Body type
  • Transmission type
  • Color, number of seats, steering wheel placement, etc.

How to use this information

Both the Specs and Equipment parts in the report are straightforward, listing available technical specifications and attributes of a specific vehicle.

You can use this information to:

  • Verify that the vehicle’s specifications match the seller’s claims
  • Confirm it meets your needs (such as engine size, fuel type, or safety features)
  • Identify any premium or missing equipment that may impact its value or desirability
  • Compare the vehicle’s features with similar models to understand its overall value and appeal

If any listed equipment is particularly important to you, ensure it’s fully functional, as repairs or replacements can add to ownership costs.

Why car specifications may be inaccurate or missing?

In some cases, the Specs & Equipment section may lack information or appear inaccurate. This can result from administrative errors, decoding errors, or incomplete records, which may happen if the data isn’t available from the original manufacturer or other sources.

If you suspect an error in the report, contact our support team for clarification or possible correction.
